Hi everyone. Went to restart my 24" Intel Mac running Lion and the it stops at the gray screen with the Apple Logo and the loading icon. I tried safe mode and single user command mode. Niether worked. Couldn't get to log on screen in safe mode and when I used the other method it said that there were no issues. Think the hard drive is done? Any help would be appreciated.
Try starting the iMac in Lion recovery mode (command + R) then repair your hard drive with disk utility then give it a try. If that don't work then try reinstalling Lion.

Thanks Eric. Got into it and used Disc Utility and it said there were no problems. I am now restoring from Time Machine backup. Thanks for your help. You saved me a trip to the Genius Bar.
