music is not syncing to the ipad

My music is not copying to the iPad. Out of 6000 or more songs, it only copies about 10.

I do indeed have it check off to sync ALL music (in iTunes on the MAC)

I also tried to update to the new iOS 5.0.1. To no avail.

I also tried to do the whole iPad "restore" process. Unfortunately, I have the same problem

All the lists are there in the iPad, but they are "grayed out" so that they cannot be played.

😟

More steps to repeat the problem. So I deleted all the music from my iPad, and then I resync to add them back in. Only about 9 songs actually copy during the sync. Here are some screen shots:

Syncing the songs,... so far, so good:

Now, all of a sudden, the syncing just stops, at the 10th song:

I deleted that 10th song too, just to test if it was something in the song that was making it crash. But to no avail.

P.S. I have other issues with the iPod app on iPad too. For example, I can no longer seem to play AAC files at double speed or half speed. Also the "go back 30 seconds" button is no longer there.

HELP!
