powerbook1701, Starting this thread was a plea for someone to help me solve having to enter my password multiple times whenever iTunes was accessed. It's an irritation and annoyance, nothing more. But it shouldn't be necessary to have to re-enter the password.

So, I'm thinking that this problem for us is not very high on the priority list of things Apple feels needs attending to.

As far as changing the title of the thread, I'm not sure how to change it. Or what wording would make it easier for someone searching for help with the same problem to find it.

iTunes 10.5.3 did not fix my issue, not did running first in administrator mode (win 7 64bit) and I already have ping turned off.  I do find that it only prompts me for my password, if I am currently signed in at the time of itunes opening.

Skiziks, you could consider renaiming the post to reflect all versions of itunes 10.5.1 and above, as the current title may be construed as just an issue for an older version of iTunes, that may now be fixed in updated versions, even though it is not.

avnyc11, I could do that, change the title to "iTunes10.5.x mutiple password irritation" for instance, but I can't find the way to do it.

Where can I get into the window to make the change?

Looks like I still have this problem no matter whether I have automatic downloads checkmarked or not in the preferences

I believe to change a post title, The author of the thread, the first person to start the thread, has to use the "report post" and ask select the edit option and put in the title of what you want it to be. The moderators have to actually make the change, however.

    same problem.

    solution:

disconect your account from itunes store in your itunes.

in your itunes on itunes store, right upper corner in click your email press disconect

when you reopen your itunes it wont ask again

yes that does stop the password prompting, but disconnecting from the itunes store means no downloading. so this is not an effective solution

The problem is definitely getting worse. I now have to input my password at least 10 times before iTunes stops asking me for my password

TBH, I am OK now, if i clear cache or rest itunes, then it asks, if I don't it doesn't. But since 10.5.3, only once and never twice +

However, a though just occured? How fast is your connection and is it the time it is taking for the server to respond to the authentication request...????

Are you on a fast or slow connection and maybe that is impacting how many times this request happens...?

I don't have the problem once I put in the password (after the multiple times it asks me) once I turn on my computer, but it's still frusturating to have to do everytime I turn on my computer.

I'm always on fast connections, so I don't see what that would have to do with anything.

I've also tried resetting my cache to see if that causes the problem, but it doesn't for me.

I'm starting to think that the problem might have something to do with the Last.FM scrobbling app. Does anyone else who is experiencing this problem use the app?

I've never used Last.FM and I still have the Automatic Downloads password double request in iTunes 10.5.3.

Yeah, I still had the problem with Last.FM uninstalled. It seems to be really bad, I have to enter my password about 20x or more.
