Missing email address info in prior messages. Can't find references. Help.

I like to see the date, title and addresses associated with every email in a string of emails where "reply to" has been used. Just noticed that sometimes all the address info is there for prior emails, and sometimes is just says for example "On Nov 9, 2011, at 10:43 PM, 'so and so' wrote:". I thought maybe it was just getting lost on comebacks from others, but experimenting indicates it occurs when I'm replying as well. I've used Mail for years and not noticed this behavior before. I may have inadvertently changed something in preferences, but I have not changed anything recently and don't know what it might be. In any event, I'd like to find the references explaining the logic being used, and anything I can change or implement to get the full info each time.
