Is your Music.app crashing with iTunes Match?

Since turning on iTunes Match, I can't run the Music app on my iPhone 4S. My iPad2 is working just fine with it, but when I launch the Music app on my phone I get a white screen for 10 seconds, then crash back to the home screen. Toggling iTunes Match on/off and restarting the phone haven't changed this behavior. Anyone else? Any fixes? Thanks.

In case anyone else runs into something similar, the situation is resolved. I synched my iPhone with iTunes using the USB cable, which didn't seem to do anything. Then I ran a Wifi sync. After the Wifi sync, the Music app came to life with all my playlists and iTunes Match music. Not sure why it worked out that way, but all's well that ends well.

I went too the apple store and the guy at the genius bar did the following to my iPhone 4 running ios 5.0.1:

Goto Settings->General->Reset and he selected the top option to "Reset All Settings" do not select "Erase All Content and Settings" this will wipe your phone and data and you won't be a happy camper.

I was told this will not remove my data but will reset my lock screen password, background photos on my screens and any other settings I tweaked. Once he did this and the system rest, the phone started up as if it was a new phone. He just went through the initial setup and I was back in business. The music app stopped crashing for me but still is buggy and crashes when I try to sort by genre. But other than that i am able to get too my music now.

Apple still needs to come out with an update to fix this issue. The service guy said it was like clearing out any system config files that have failed and clogging memory. What ever.... it mostly worked.

Hope this helps so me of you.

Since I started using Match I noticed more mistakes in some of my music tracks. After enabling Match I made some changes to song. And despite using "Update iTunes Match" the changes appeared on my phone, but did not replace the original information. This is why I think the Music app seemed to crash on me. For example, I had both "Black Eyed Peas" and "The Black Eyed Peas" and when I corrected them on my iTunes I had both listings on my phone. When I would select songs from the "Black Eyed Peas" it would crash the app. Other songs did this also.

The reset mentioned above did not fix it, what helped was to turn off iTunes Match on the phone, sync and verify no music was on the iphone and turn on the iTunes Match again. This has ensured only the corrected track info is on my phone now and so far no app crashes yet.

I called them and had the case escalated to Senior Tech Support, who handed it off the Engineering. I'm supposed to hear back from the engineers within about a week.

I managed to have Music.app stable long enough to load my favorite Smart Playlist and download all the tracks in it. I then turned off iTunes Match and the downloaded songs remained available and the Music app, which is now usable, though no playlists are visible so I have to search by artists, song, or album.

I suspect the problem may be with bad metadata or excessive library size/insufficient processing power for a library of that size (my library is over 22,000 songs, which is under the 25,000 song limit of iCloud, but may be too much for my iPhone 4).

Things I have not yet tried:

- creating a new iTunes library with only a few songs or albums that you know are properly tagged and trying to sync that to iCloud

- syncing my iTunes Match library with an iPhone 4S

Nice. I have had issues with certain smart playlists being blank, even after resetting my iTunes Match and deleting all content off my iPhone 4S. I also have not been able to browse by Genre on my phone at all. Everytime I select Genre the phone crashes the Music.app. My work around was to create smart playlists for each Genre and use them.

I kinda have the same issue.

The music.app on my iphone 4 running 5.0.1 crashes when I select "Artists" in the bottom bar. This only happens when I switch "show all music" off in the settings. If I leave this on, there is another issue I am experiencing. A song, I know for sure is in the cloud, will only appear on my iphone if I search for it. It won't show up in artists, albums or songs. This is why I wanted to "show all music" off, to check if I would still be able to find to song. I am able to find, but I cannot browse "artists" because the app crashes as soon as I try. Still, the specific song does not show up under albums or songs.

Next to that fact, when I switch "show all music" off, I still see music with the cloud-picture behind it in my lists.

This whole ITunes Match thing seems to be buggy as ****.
