Is it possible to have a local server for iphone updates?

Hi,

My company runs a fleet of iPhone 3GSs, 4s and 4Ss as well as iPads and iPad 2s for some staff. Every time a new firmware update comes out, we download it and place it in a folder so people can find it but our staff usually just end up downloading a whole bunch of times when itunes tells them to which slows down our internet severely.

Is there are a way to automate this entire process?

I read about a similiar service in OS X server edition for apple software updates and we're happy to buy a mac mini server if that's the case, but I wanted to be sure it would work.

iPhone 4S, iOS 5
