iTunes Match "Waiting" Status

I just did update iTunes Match under the store menu and it fixed the ones stuck on "waiting"

I was waiting for magic to happen too. Instead I went under Store, Update iTunes Match -- THEN the magic happened. All my songs are now in the cloud or not eligible.

Thanks John in NC! I had a number of songs stuck in waiting. iTunes match showed completed, but these were still waiting. Adding another song to iCloud didn't cause them to upload either. I was pretty bummed out until I came across your post. Thanks for sharing.

No luck here. I have about 300 songs in the "waiting" status. I tried turning match on and off and also doing the Update iTunes Match and they haven't changed. It has been more than 24 hours too. I may need to call Apple on this one.

Did you try going to the Menu Bar and clicking "Store" and then "Update iTunes Match"?

Yes I did.

One additional thought, I'd check the permissions on a file in waiting versus one that completed. You might have already looked at that and have run repair permissions from Disk Utility. If so, I'd agree it's about time to call Apple.

I had a about 5 CD's that I had just ripped that 'stuck' in Waiting status. I closed iTunes and relaunched and like magic, they all switched to matched or uploaded. So turned out they were not still waiting but had in fact been processed, just displaying the wrong iCloud Status.

I ended up having to restore the songs from backup. After I did that iTunes was able to complete the match. BTW, Disk utility doesn't repair permissions of user files.

I had a lot with either 'Error' (not very helpful) or 'Waiting'. The only way I could fix it was to sort by the cloud icon, select the ones in that status, then create AAC version. Once done (I had over 1000 so took a while), deleted the originals. Run the iTunes Match again, I had to then exit iTunes, then run it again, and it either matched them or uploaded the remainder. I had a few that would not convert to AAC but there must be something else wrong there.

Real pain to do but I got an extra 1000 songs in the cloud so worth it.

I'm having the same problem... Although mine is with audio files with chapters... Dance mixes I have created using AudioBinder/Chaptertool. Hope they sort out the problem with these!

It's worth checking your iTunes Media File Location (in Prefences / Advanced) is pointing to the correct location.

I had the same problem with about 20% of my music stuck in waiting status. My music is held on a shared network drive which went offline overnight. iTunes had reset the media file location to a local drive which meant iTunes Match was looking in the wrong location.

I set the media file location to the correct location, selected Store / Update iTunes Match and it started working again.

In Australia, iTunes Match came on line a week ago...

And like many others, I have a few problems...

a) nine of my 58 albums are in the "Waiting" status ...

Going the "Store, Turn Off iTunes Match", then turn it back on has no effect, including shuting down iTunes, and my iMac...

b) on my iPhone 4s, these same Albums...

Show all Songs as greyed out in Album View, and none will play when the list is tapped.

In Cover Flow view, these songs can be selected and played, with Airplane Mode on or off, so the Songs are on the Phone 4s [not being played from iCloud].

c) Album Art work is missing from eight these nine Albums on iPhone 4s, but oddly, one has art work.

d) Album Art work is also missing from a seven other albums...

so 15 albums out of 58 are missing Art Work on iPhone 4s.

So where to go from here. I do not see a consistant approach to resolving these bugs emerging in these Forums, yet...

Also, when i would do the update iTunes Match, it goes thru the 3 steps. So the past 3 times i've tried to update it, I would be stuck on step 2 with the message of 1498/1500 songs checked, but it just stays like that and no progress happens and no step 3 can go thru
