Ical syncing, best way? Three devices: iPad, macbook pro, android phone

I would absolutely LOVE it if someone could tell me how to efficiently sync my Ical between my macbook pro, ipad, and android phone using a GMAIL account... (which I don't even need to use the gmail calendar if not needed but if it is better as a middle-man, I can).

I have been struggling to do this for about a month now and reallllllly getting frustrated with the errors.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Well, it is simple. Just go to mail setting, add your account there and check the calendar box (on macbook pro and ipad). On your android, go to calendar app, you will see a box at the top left corner. Click on it, choose your gmail account. That is, you can sync calender between your devices :)

I did this, but entries in my iCal don't show up on my phone. It works great from phone to iCal.
