For some reason I cannot access 'special characters' from the Edit menu; nor am I able to access it through International. I would really appreciate being able to see an input menu (in order to type biblical hebrew) - can anyone help me out? I'm using Word 2008 (12.3.1) and have OS 10.5.8

Go to system preferences/international/input menu and check the boxes for Hebrew, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer and for Character Palette. Then go to the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and select Hebrew and type away. To see which key does what, select Keyboard Viewer in the same menu.
Thanks Tom - the problem seems to be that there isn't a box for Keyboard Viewer or for Character Palette anywhere in the International window...
