iTunes Match vs. Play Counts

Hello everyone - I need some help.

I signed up for Match last night, and it matched/uploaded just about all of my music. I've been messing with it today trying to figure out how it works, and ran into an error that I can't figure out - play counts.

I downloaded a new album (CAMP by Childish Gambino, if you're wondering), imported it into iTunes, uploaded it to iCloud/Match, and it was listed as "Matched." The album showed up on my iPhone and my iPad. Perfect!

I listened to it a few times on my phone, rated a few songs, etc, then opened up iTunes to see what it did. It pulled down the ratings from the cloud, but not the play counts. I plugged my phone in and synced (wifi sync wasn't connecting due to an unknown error) in hopes that an itunes sync would pull the play counts down, but no luck...

Anyone else tried this or have a similar experience? I have a few playlists built around play counts and would really like to have my play counts updated. Thanks!

something i played last night and the first track i played today have been updated with last played date and play count, the others havent been updated yet but i believe they will be and will confirm when they do, i think this because before the 6.1 update only play counts would update but i noticed then that the first one would update right away and the others would update on their own 1-3 days later

I am also experiencing this working again as it did in IOS5. The update to the cloud appears to happen once per day from each device. The update to the cloud appears to be triggered by completely playing a song through after the 24 hour period has ended. For example, if you play two tracks, one at 12:00 and the second at 12:04, the first track might go to the cloud if it's been 24 hours since you played something on that device. The second track will not update to the cloud until after you finishing playing on song after 12:00 on the next day. At that time, it will update all tracks played between 12:00 on the first day and whenever you play a track after 12:00 the second day. If you don't play anything the second day, you won't see any updates.

Each device gets its own 24 hour clock, so iPhone and iPad updates happen independently of each other. Also, this does not seem to work with Apple TV. I'm not getting any play count or last played updates happening from songs played from the TV box.

The long delay is not a perfect solution for those of us who use multiple devices and want their smart playlists synced between the devices, but its a serious improvement over where it was in iOS 6.0.x.

I've got an mac book pro, an apple tv3, an ipad mini and an iphone 5 and they're all connected to my itunes match.

After updating to ios6, the play count seems to work but now there's a new problem!

After listening to songs with 0 counts (one time) the counter counted twice and they've got now 2 play counts instead of only one!

Mine wasn't working since IOS 6.1 but i've just turned I-tunes match off and then back on in I-tunes (under the store menu), after about five mins my play counts for an album I played on my i-phone yesterday updated, success!, strangely it also updated something I've just played on my i-phone but not the stuff I played this morning, who knows!
