etherpad running in FF 8.0 cannot save text from Pages 4.1

This is easy to reproduce:

1. Get yourself a pad here: http://pad.working.name

2. Open Pages, create a text box, type some mumbo jumbo in it, and then copy all the text within that text box

3. Go back to FF 8.0 and paste the text. then check to see if it was saved by going to the history button - top right in etherpad-lite.
