    I returned my ipod January 2nd and I am still waiting for my status to change from "empty box sent" to received.  I called Apple a week ago and they told me they have indeed received the ipod and my tracking info says they have as well.  He told me I should have received an email indicating that they have, but I still haven't yet, and the status is still "empty box sent"... Come on Apple...

    It probably doesn't cost Apple that much to make any iPod, they have massive machines that churn the things out at thousands an hour, it's the whole reason theyre making such a killing right now. I'm sending mine in and I really hope they don't send back another 1st gen, cos that would mean they are still manufacturing them. In all likelyhood they'll just send back a new refurbished one. I'll put it up when i see it, justify/resolve suspicion of Apple a bit :3

    Make sure to protect that thing and do not touch it during winter or dry weather. I shorted my 6th gen out and it just commited suicide in my pocket. I think apple needs to follow Nokia's suit and make a range of armageddon-proof iPods/Phones/Pads. I've shorted my 1st gen out twice and it worked perfectly both times. guess they don't make things like they used to... -_-'

    Hello, I started the process in November...Apple site says received in early January.  They truly don't seem to give a darned as they had our money now our iPod.  Will they please get their act together and start responding to this?  They sure are quick with new product releases but this is ridiculous!

    My dad and friend both did this.  My dad got the latest nano, the touchscreen one.  My friend has implied he got the rectangular one with a camera, the one before the touch screens, although I haven't gotten a straight answer from him.  So it's either the latest nano (touchscreen) or whatever they have leftover, but probably the latest nano

    Excuse me c9w, how much time took the program in case of your dad and friend?

    Because i sent my girlfrined's ipod, UPS delivered it the second of February but up till now on the repair monitor page there is "Empty Box Shipped"

    Just received confirmation that Apple has received my iPod Nano and it will be replaced with a 6th gen iPod Nano.  Diagnostics have been done, I've been approved for the replacement.  Just have to wait for shipping.

    how long did it take from the time they received yours to the time they issued a replacement? Mine was received by apple a week ago, but is still "pending product replacement"

    I am from the UK. I got enrolled to the replacement program on the 13/11/11 online. I received the box a few days later and posted it on the 18/11/11. After about a week I received an email saying that my ipod nano repair was cancelled.


    When I phoned a rep (had to hold on for a long time paying 5p a minute for the call) he reassured me and said I would recieve the replacement in about 6 weeks.


    Today (08/02/12) I phoned again and the first rep said my nano was registered to somebody elses name. Then she passed it to another rep (after about 30 miutes of holding the line,  paying 5p per minute) who said the same thing. She made me feel like I was making a fraudulent call. How could apple sent me the box to my current address and then say that I was ringing them about somebody elses iPod nano? I offered to provide my credit card details and the previous address we were living in 6 years ago when I ordered the nano.


    When I requested to make a fromal complaint I was told apple would get back to me tomorrow.


    Apple customer care is bad. I am not getting value for money for the 'apple tax' I paid when I bought my Powerbook, Mac mini, iMAc, iphones(3, 4 and 4s), nano, all the apps and songs.

    I had a problem with my Ipod Nano and took it to Regent Street Genius Bar.  I was advised it came under the Replacement programme.  Like Pakaya 71 I received an envelope and posted my Ipod off on 4 January 2012.  I am now trying to follow up when I can expect to receive a replacement but there is no simple way to speak to anyone.  When I got through the operator was asking about reference numbers and so on which I did not have.  I only have proof of posting which Apple advised to do.


    I am missing my music......................has anyone else received a replacement trouble free yet?

    How were you notified of what model the replacement will be? They've had mine since 01-24-12, and I've received no email, and the repair status page for me doesnt specify what the replacement model will be.

    Hi guys,

    Here is Bangladesh we don't have any apple store but we do have an 'apple authorized reseller'. I gave my iPod nano 1st generation to the reseller on 1st December, 2011. I actually received a call from them yesterday (09-Feb-12). They told me that my replacement unit was here and ready to be picked up.

    The result: I received an iPod nano 6th generation (8Gb)!

    I know there is a severe lack of information out there regarding this program, so I thought sharing this would help. Good luck everyone!

    In my case, I recieved a 6th Generation iPod Nano (Silver). It said on a sticker on the screen: 298 of 2000. I assume this means it was 298th in a batch of 2000 ipod nano 6th gens that were being sent out for this purpose.

    It took about 5 weeks for mine to be replaced after "Product Replacement Pending" was shown. It means that they are waiting to get hold of a replacment - or be bothered to go and find one!
