Unlock for use in different Regions (Europe,Asia etc)

I own a iPhone 3S, not simlocked (actually at full price). As of iOS 4 up, i can not use local Simcards in another Worldregion than the one of purchase.

Consequently, Apple is limiting the use of their iPhones and if you don't want to pay exorbitant Roaming, you are forced to buy any other brand (Samsung,HTC,Nokia, etc). I do not understand why Apple is penalizing its customers. Please help to push Apple to get back to eliminate this serious drawback. Did anyone experienced the same? I want an answer from Apple, else, despite the nice product, I will definitely avoid to go for the next Apple phone.

Purchasing a device at full price does NOT mean it is unlocked. Did you actually purchase an unlocked iPhone?

Where was it purchased?

If it is carrier locked, ONLY the carrier to whom it is locked can authorize it's unlocking.

Apple isn't limiting a darn thing... come down off your podium. All device manufacturers carrier lock devices at the carriers request.

Usually I don't respond to unpolite comments. Go and read exactly what I was writing.

1. My iPhone is UNLOCKED, works fine with all Simcards in Europe

2. If in Asia region, (where I am right now) it will not accept ANY Simcard from this region.

3. Multiple specialists confirm this fact (are they all stupid??)

4 Sometimes it is better to see things from a higher level, it might help to look beyond the rim of the coffecup

I asume that you are in the US; note: the world is not ending at the Atlantic- nor at the Pacific-coast

I asked for advise and not for timewasting and stupid comments.

I herewith consider this dicussion as closed.
