Multiple greyed out songs on iPhone after deleting songs. iTunes match?

iTunes match works perfectly for me..most of the time. But now its screwing with my phone. For instance I currently have zero music on my phone but the purchased playlist keeps popping up and also my iPhone says i have 913 songs on my phone. 0 kb. i used to have songs on there through itunes match but i deleted them. for some reason they keep coming back after i deleted those songs and in multiples. I tried "deleting" the greyed out songs but they keep coming back after syncing. theyre greyed out with the syncing symbol next to them. how do i get rid of them?

Same situation. Have tried numerous suggestions via posts, but to no avail. At this point, I have music sync turned off. My iPhone shows no music on the phone as it should, but under my iPhone "DEVICE" in iTunes, it shows numerous greyed out songs w/ a sync symbol next to them. I believe the fact that these greyed songs are showing is what is causing problems when I do turn on sync and try to move music to my iPhone. All of this is done on an iPhone 4S.

I also have this problem.

At first there were only six; every time I synced my iPhone I would recieve a message that said "six items could not be synced." However, these items were dublicates (their counterparts played just fine on my iPhone). Just to rid myself of the annoying error message, I removed all music from my iPhone and re-synced. Now there are twenty six versions that won't play and will not delete!

Here's what's interesting: some of the songs shouldn't be there at all. They are not checked in my library and I have "only sync checked songs" selected. Some of the songs appear twice on my iPhone (i.e. there are two identical greyed out versions, neither of which play), and some appear only once.

I selected "manaually manage music" in attempts to delete these greyed-out 0KB songs; however, after I delete them they reappear after diconnecting and reconnecting my phone. They simply will not go away.

If I enable music syncing, some of these songs are complimented with playable versions, others are not.

I do not have, nor have I ever had iTunes match. Some songs were purchased through iTunes, others Amazon. They all play fine on my computer.

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Amazon for the same issue. Turns out there is a simple solution. Delete the affected songs from iTunes and then, in iTunes, go to File - Add File to Library and re-add the songs. The files imported this way sync normally. Hopefully Amazon will fix their download software so this won't be necessary for long.
