When sending an email, it takes several minutes to send when using iCloud.
When I send from a different server it sends right away. What would be the problem.

If you are referring to iCloud.com and sending mail using a browser, empty the browser cache more often.
Helps to tell us which browser you are using to access iCloud.com.

I guess I'll cross-post this here, too:
Same deal here. Sending any mail from my Mac for the last week or so—the activity window will show it is connecting to p03-smtp.mail.me.com. This will take up to two minutes or longer before the mail message will send, as described.
I've done the ol' iCloud account reset/signing out and in/re-adding of the account, but that didn't work. This happened in the past, too, for a day or two, and just miraculously went back to its normal behavior.
Did somebody trip over a cord at p03-smtp-mail.me.com?
The mystery continues.
