iTunes Match Match Explicit Songs Matches Clean

I am having issues where some songs that have explicit words are being replaced by songs that have been censored ( clean version ). I am pretty particular about my music, ever time I hear a song that has been censored, it is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Some of my songs are being properly matched, Eminem for instance seems to have no problem being matched, however Blink-182 gets matched with the clean version.

I hope Apple will correct this before this comes out of beta, for an Apple product I am thoroughly disappointed.

That untitled/self-titled Nas album is wrong for me, too.

I've gone back and forth in emails with support now, and they're just giving me the runaround. I'm getting more and more ****** by the day.

This is currently the only way I have to listen to my music collection in my apartment. I guess I'm gonna go back to Amazon cloud player or google music, because this is worthless.

Update: I managed to secure a refund for the service and have moved on to Google Play (formally Google Music) and Spotify. Granted, this required an e-mail to Tim Cook (Apple's CEO) but they did make it happen after some back-and-forth e-mails.

In short, find something that works--you are not paid to troubleshoot or fix these problems. ⚠

I can confirm that a number of the tracks that I've replaced (See: deleted the old, low quaity tracks; redownloaded the matched, high quality tracks) have been restored to full un-censored glory.

[[Note: I've modified this playlist. Before, it was set to only show songs with Bit Rate below 256, and there was no Date Modified criteria. I changed these settings as all my 'Upgraded' songs (The Censored ones) are, of course, 256 Bit]]

This is the smart playlist I use to find the tracks I've matched (it won't rule out the newly censored ones). I delete them from here...

...And re-download them from this Smart Playlist:

User uploaded file

This playlist finds the tracks that are in the cloud, but not on the computer. So just Option-Delete from the first playlist, and re-download them from the iTunes Match servers from the second one.

Well, this has still not been fixed. I attempted to open another incident/ticket with Apple Support. They seem very reluctant to keep an open ticket on this. I got a reply saying that they have submitted feedback under my Apple ID to the iTunes department, but would not comment on whether they opened an actual ticket to be worked/tracked. I responded with a very direct request to 1) open a ticket that will remain open until the issue is resolved...and provide me with an occasional status, or 2) escalate my request to a level that can do such a thing.

I did get a link to a feedback page. And the support technician suggested that I pass it along to anyone I know that is having this problem. I suggest that everyone send in your feedback and also pass this link along to others that may not be in this thread. Maybe more complaints through official channels will raise some eyebrows!

Just received this back from Apple Support after my initial complaint a few months ago when the 1st reponse was regarding Apple Engineers were looking into the problem.. (shocked she followed up after so long!)

1) Delete the affected songs from your computer and iTunes in the Cloud. See
this article for steps:
iTunes Store: How to delete songs from iCloud
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4915
2) Reimport the songs from the original source.
3) From the iTunes menu, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
Your understanding and cooperation are most appreciated. Thank you for choosing
iTunes Store. Have a wonderful day!

I recently purchased eminems new album, explicit deluxe version. When I got home i put it into itunes to put it onto my iPod but once it imported it became censored. I even tried deleting it and re installing it but it's still censored. Can someone help me with my situation?

Delete the album from the iTunes library and the cloud and re-download it from your purchase history: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519. First make sure you are in a country that allows for re-downloading of purchases.

Yes. Me too! Some it my Drake songs are clean now. And I bought explicit CD's and imported them into iTunes. It's very frustrating when your in the mood listening and then a edit comes. Apple needs to fix this ASAP. Apparently the software doesnt or can't tell if you have a explicit or edited version of the song so it randomly matches either a explicit or edited. One song was edited for awhile but after the recent iTunes update (10.5.2) it was explicit.

I'm confused. I love iTunes Match because I don't have to have all my music stored on my phone but it's really aggravating that this explicit/edited bug hasn't been fixed!

This is a freakin nightmare. Where is my fix for this and reassurance my music isnt going to be child proofed!??!

Also where is this Battery fix for my iPhone? Apple what are you doing?

Does anyone know of a way to delete all music directly from iphone and redownload to make sure its bringing down the uncensored?

Now I need a way to determine which of my songs have been replaced on my desktops with crappy edited versions. I have 70 GIGS in the cloud!!!!!!!

Not happy about this one bit.

Don't get me wrong though. Music purchases off iTunes itself are going to be explicit if you purchased the explicit version. But your imported music files i.e. music CD's that are explicit. They are practically all clean. I just checked. I upset. Because I'm so use to listening to the way the music was meant to be. Which is explicit! Now I'm listening to clean lyrics which is annoying because there is way to many editings!

Ugh! Apple please fix this. I chose iTunes Match because I didn't want all my music taking my iPhone 4 storage space. This iCloud feature is awesome. I do know this is the early stages and your working on the important parts first. But this bug is serious though!

yea, the same thing happened to me and I didn't even realize it until yesterday when I bought the physical copy of Young Jeezy's new TM103.. Some songs in iCloud are edited, some aren't. It's so bizzare, and I don't understand why this would happen when Apple sells both explicit and clean in the iTunes store.. Something has to be done or else iTunes match is just ruining my iTunes library that is well over 12,000 songs.. Apple, this isn't like you.. HELP!
