How do i request a full refund for itunes match. This service is useless if i changes my music (clean/edited version of a song).

Officially, the only way to go about getting a refund from Apple is to contact iTunes Store customer service and request it. I do not know if there is a timeframe from which you can do this but it's worth a shot.

In my case, I sent a firm letter to the company CEO (Tim Cook) requesting a refund for the service, and my wish was granted. I cannot say this is, or will be, the case for you or anyone else but I think that this issue has been going on long enough to merit refunds for those affected.

As an anecdote, I have been using a competitor product (Google Play) in leu of iTunes Match and haven't been disappointed. Amazon's music store is also worth a look, too.

Thanks. If they complain about the timeframe it is because i was trying to be patient since in feb apple stated they were working a fix. It is now July and the service is still acting like beta and the issue has not been fixed. I feel i have been plenty patient and deserve my refund as apple has had their chance to make it right.

Ditto. Google Play works like a charm. Already canceled Match because of it.

Don't forget that your music has been permenantly altered unless you have a backup of the original file.  Be sure to mention this if you are affected.

In my case, I was asked for an itemization of affected songs from my nearly 3,600+ song library--something no-one in their right mind is going to spend time doing (I think they know that).

Post back with your results. Hopefully, a budding class action attorney will get wind of this in the near future.

There's hope.  I think iTunes 11 will fix this.

I'll believe it when I see it.  I would think that much of the matching is server side, but who knows.

I don't think iTunes 11 will fix this. This is a server problem. Until Apples engineers correct this in the code that provides results (allowing a choice when more than one version exists) we will not have a resolution. I haven't seen an iTunes Preference option to default to explicit or clean versions when both are available.

Can anyone confirm that this issue is fixed. My boss and a friend of mine have said that they are no longer having this issue? They're claiming it was fixed in the past 3 days.

I can confirm that a number of the tracks that I've replaced (See: deleted the old, low quaity tracks; redownloaded the matched, high quality tracks) have been restored to full un-censored glory.

[[Note: I've modified this playlist.  Before, it was set to only show songs with Bit Rate below 256, and there was no Date Modified criteria.  I changed these settings as all my 'Upgraded' songs (The Censored ones) are, of course, 256 Bit]]

This is the smart playlist I use to find the tracks I've matched (it won't rule out the newly censored ones).  I delete them from here...

...And re-download them from this Smart Playlist:

This playlist finds the tracks that are in the cloud, but not on the computer.  So just Option-Delete from the first playlist, and re-download them from the iTunes Match servers from the second one.

I 'matched' P!nk's new album just yesterday, and it most definitely still replaced explicit songs with clean ones. The issues has not been resolved.

Maybe it's just a particular Artist or Genre..  I've checked all the previously Explicit CDs I imported, and then 'Upgraded' to a Clean status, by listening to the track and then replacing it with the above smart-playlists.  The artists include Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, D12, etc.  They've all been replaced as of last night and all the S, F, N, B, C and C-Words are back.  (The 2nd C-word is Crack, which in some contexts gets extracted.  Just in case you were wondering!)

Maybe we should add a list of Artists who's music IS restored to full f---ing glory.  ;-)

All of T-Pain's new mixtape Stoic is edited with itunes Match.  C'mon APPLE we need a fix.

Turn iTunes Match off.delete censored song/album.go to restrictions in your setting and enable restrictions. Scroll down to music & podcast-explicit.turn iTunes Match on. Go back to song/album and play the song. Should be fixed......
