Hey guys,

I currently administer a Mac network.

The server is running Mac OS X Server 10.5 with OD.

After having many, many issues with OS X's default syncing of user files back to the server (due to the way we need it to work), we have decided that it would be best for us to set up local accounts, and just allow users access to their share.

There is currently a good 50 or so users who have documents in their home directory, and what I want to happen is for them to be able to connect back up to their home directory simply via a share.

As it stands (by default), I cannot currently authenticate as a user to log in to their home 'drive' on the sever; it merely tells you that you do not have permission.

How would I go about making it prompt for a username and password, rather than just telling me 'no.'?

Thanks in advance!

(P.S. - I would like to keep the home directories as the shares; it is too much hassle to re-create a new share for each individual user and move across their docs.)
