The icon next to Music in the top left (not the icon next to individual icones) has gone from a solid cloud, to a cloud with what seems to be a lightning bolt. If i click it, the icon becomes animated for several minutes, with wavy lines. Not sure what this indicates? both the lightning bolt or the wavy lines.

iTunes Match seems to be down. I can still download on an iphone and ipad but not a mac or windows machine.
RIght. That's what I am experiencing. The Match process is still going on, as far as uploading the unmatched traicks (going on day three for that project)- that seems to be going fine.
But I tried deleting some tracks and then downloading from the cloud, and the tracks and the cloud icons are greyed out.
The cloud icon next to Music library is still having the diagonal lines scrolling across it.
And if I go to my phone, I can download the same tracks onto the phone no problem.
I'm getting a cloud with a lightning bolt as well as a cloud with lines moving through it, and the inability to download anything on my MacBook Pro. I'm also having issues with my iOS connectivity as well though.
Maintenence maybe?

Mine is not.
Match had been working perfectly. I decided to delete all my low bitrate matached songs and redownload them. The process was going perfectly and then I had to restart my Macbook. About 500 songs downloaded correctly and are now upgraded 256kbps AACs but every other matched song is greyed out and I cannot download it.
I have tried everything: turning off/on match, option clicking the match on/off button, creating a new itunes library, etc. No luck. I can see all my music and itunes match says all 7500 of my songs "are avilable in the cloud" but almost all of them appear in grey text and I cannot downloaded them.
Also, the cloud icon next to "music" on the sidebar shows animated diagonal lines.
Is iTunes match down? Anyone else having this issue?
Interesting, I can download/stream all 7500+ songs on my iPhone. The problem seems to be confined to itunes on my mac.

Yeah, seems more and more likely it's just down. Cloud icon changed from animated diagonal lines to a cloud with a lightning bolt.
Yay! iTunes Match is up and running again for me!
Hope it stays up! I still have 4435 songs to upgrade.
Back up now for me as well.
- iTunes art i was updating before it went down has now updated on my iPhone.
- creating a playlist on the iPhone is now showing up on the computer in iTunes moments later.
- songs added from the iPhone to an existing playlist that is already on the phone and in iTunes, the playlist updates in iTunes moments later.
Now, if only my playcounts, and smart playlists were working properly....
Back up for me as well but many of my songs on my iTouch are still gray and cannot be downloaded from the cloud, even though in iTunes they are listed as being uploaded. Tried everything I could think of to try and change that so I could download them on my iTouch but so far nothing is working.
Its my third day at Step 2 - keeps hanging at 8851 of 11988 songs on MackBook Pro. iTunes Match restarts the process over and over about every 3 hours. I guess it takes a while to match all the music but Iam starting to lose patience.
