Win7 64bit, everything was working fine before 10.5.1.42 update...  Now everything works EXCEPT whenever I tired to access iTunes Store, it crashes when the top bar reaches about half way everytime!  Done everything this page says http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717 including uninstall/re-install and nothing works... Please help!!!!

The only possible temporary fix that worked for me:
Right click on the iTunes icon, (whether that is on the desktop, start menu etc) and press "Run as Administrator" the store should work using this method.

I think you will have to do this EVERY time you want to start up iTunes.

Message to apple: we shouldnt have to continually run the program as a administrator to use key features of a program, especially when we, the customer are wanting to purchase things off your store, also means your losing out on money

I'm having the same issue.  I've tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes, but that did not resolve the issue.  Please fix this, it's stopping me from purchasing things via iTunes.

I am having the exact same issue. It worked the other day, and suddenly it seems to have stopped working.

I have tried reinstalling iTunes, ive even resorted to reinstalling my graphics card, since a few people had issues in the past and was to do with their graphics cards/drivers, yet this still does not fix the issue.

Maybe either iTunes needs to put patch out, cause I am betting it is just 64-bit windows 7/vista thats affected, either that or its all the versions of windows.

It sort of bothers me. I mean, there has to be a large portion of the population running 64 bit Windsow 7.

iTunes crashes on BOTH of my laptops - one is Win7 64bit and the other is a Vista machine. Both are reasonble-to-impressive specs. the Win7 machine was updated to iTunes 10.5.1; the Vista machine was not. Both crash after approx. 30-60 seconds after launch of iTunes.

I'm in the same boat with all of you!! After hours of clean install and reinstall, Itunes starts up, but as soon as I go anywhere near the Store, you see the store try and load and I get the dreaded "The program has stopped working" message in Win7 64bit.  It closes and I hit restart of Itunes, and try to go to my account, same problem all over.

    I hope Apple fixes,this.

Same issue here.  Windows 7 64-bit.  I was able to access the store yesterday but then it started crashing every time I performed a search.  Now the store won't even load and iTunes just crashes out.  On the last version of the software I could make it crash every time by clicking on the "Purchased" link.  iTunes also freezes up 50 times a day to think about something.

Well theres one thing for certain, if its literally everyone with a 64-bit version of windows with exactly the same problem, iTunes sales are gonna be down

But yeah on a serious note, I have asked a few of my friends with 64-bit windows too and they are all having the exact same problem as us! They all have Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit as do I. Now I wonder what versions of Win 7 and vista you guys are using cause I bet it might be a conflicting issue with one of the ultimate features we all have, IF we all are using a Ultimate version of windows. If not, then something else maybe wrong...

I am on Windows 7 Ultimate N - and according to wiki, over 30% of the users out there rely on Windows 7

Have you gotten a solution from anyone yet?  I am having the same issue after updating to itunes 10.5.1.42, I can not access the itunes store.  Bar stops loading halfway.  uninstalled, reinstalled, use mozilla firefox, but tried switching browsers with no luck.

Mine is doing exactly the same thing, I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with no luck. This is getting super frustrating. If the iTunes store does eventually load - only text appears. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, and yes itunes is enabled on everything.

Me, too!  Windows 7 Home Premium.  GRRRRRR

My iTunes is frozen the moment I try and open it. I am running a one year old laptop with Windows 64-bit 7 Home Premium. I did purchase iTunes Match yesterday and might possibly think that there is a coincidence between that purchase and the fact I have not been able to open iTunes since. If anyone gets word from Apple, please make sure to post the fix here. I will keep trying to load the program, but will not hold my breath.
