I have an iMac 24" with 2,16 Ghz Intel Core Duo processor and 2Gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM running on OS X 10.5.8 to Lion?
I know I have to upgrade first to snowleopard???
If so SnowLeopard is not available in the iCentres etc.
What to do??

You will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard, 10.6, before upgrading to Lion, 10.7. Have you checked the Apple on-line store to see about buying a copy of 10.6? You may have to call Apple if they do not show it in the on-line store now.
After installing 10.6, you can download 10.7 from the app store.
Snow Leopard is available in the Apple on-line store in the US for $29.

Which is good since the specifications for OSX Lion require a Core 2 Duo as minimum processor:

After installation of OSX Snow Leopard and installation of neccessary updates to it you can then use the Mac App Store to buy OSX Lion and install it.

For OSX Lion an upgrade of your RAM to 4GB might be advisable.

Dear All, thx for the info. btw my iMac has core 2 duo processor so it should qualify. Maybe add some ram would be advisable. Thx anyway.

Seems to be a little confusion over just what the OP has...the listing from Stefan says it would meet the requirements.
If you have 2 GB ram, definitely at more. Even though the specs say 2 GB, Lion works a lot better with 4 GB or more.
Hi All, just ordered Snowleopard. Will be in my posession on tuesday. Will install and update etc. Thence on to Lion after upgrading RAM to 4Gb.
