I setup iTunes Match on my iMac without problems. On my iOS devices, I get an error trying to access some songs from certain albums in the Cloud (other songs in the same album download fine). The error message is:
Unable to Downlod Song
An unknkown error occurred (-12939)
Any ideas?

I think I figured it out. Apparently, if you don't have a strong wireless/3G connection, you can get this error. Appears to be working on a strong wireless connection now.
I have a strong wireless connection but still get the error, I'm only able to retrieve 1out of 10 songs from the cloud.
Getting the same errors here. Can't download a single song from iTunes on the ipad so far. Tried reinstalling the entire device and even tried connecting to different wi-fi networks.
This is a constant error, and I would have NEVER paid for iTunes Match service if I knew Apple was this subpar on the programming. This error has absolutely nothing to do with Wifi or 3G connection, but rather the Apple server. I guess they need to make another 3 or 4 billion before the service is up to par. I'd rather it not be an option if it's ot ready for the public load!

What Matches actually does:
- permanently deletes random Covers in iTunes
What Match doesn't do:
- make your music available on all your iOS devices

I think it should come as no surprise that iTunes Match's effectiveness is wholly contingent upon your network connection. However, as for the album art, that was fixed in iOS 5.1 (released last week). If a particular album art is still not showing, it will when the song is played and downloaded.
As I said iTunes Match deletes random Covers in iTunes (10.6)! This is completely indepenent from the iOS I use.
But you're right with Match depending on my network, sadly Match uses some ports, which are blocked by my administrators in my office.
Can't Match just use standard ports?!

Was able to listen to 3 songs through Match on my companies network, but on 4th song I only got Error -12939 again...
I am having the same issue on my new iPad. I had iTunes match working on my iPhone just fine, but now with my iPad I am consistently getting "An unknown error occured (-12939)". Is there any resolution to this?
