My iPhone won't stay on.

Hello,

I'm having a peculiar problem with My iPhone 4S...

Last night, my iphone had 100% battery. I put the phone in airplane mode and closed all applications for the night.

When I wake up this morning, the battery was at 85%. Usually the batter doesn't drain that much. So I tried to turn off the phone in order to reset it, but something weird happened. After I turned it off, it turned itself back on two seconds later.

Basically it's done that every time I've tried to turn it off this morning. It just won't stay off. Anyone know what to do?

2.8 GHz i5 Quad Core iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

Have you tried resetting your iPhone by pressing and holding both the Home and Power/Sleep buttons until the Apple symbol appears (ignoring the slide to power off)?

I also tried resetting all of the settings, and that didn't change anything.

Shorting of charging pins by dust, debris causes iPhone to boot right back up, after turned off.

I tried cleaning out the port with a brush... It still starts up right after I turn it off. 😕

Also, my battery is draining quite quickly, something I haven't ever had a problem with.

You could try a restore of firmware, you never know, this could fix it.

As long as there is no water damage, you have Warranty Coverage. Return iPhone to Apple for resolution of this problem.

I restored the phone as a new phone... The first time I tried to turn it off with the dock connector plugged in it sayed off. However I unplugged it and tried it again and it still starts itself back up.

Went to the Apple store today. They ran a behavior scan and whatnot and they couldn't figure it out. They swapped the phone and this one seems to be fine. Thanks for everyone's advice.
