Use two magic trackpads together?

Is it possible to use two magic trackpads together on the same computer?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Yes you can do that. You can connect multiple trackpads, mice or keyboards and use them simultaneously.

I done it several times while testing.

Edit: Understand that they control the same cursor though.

I think what you may really be asking is whether you can pair two different trackpads and use them alternately. The answer is yes. I do that myself.

I'm not sure if I understand in what context you use the term alternately...I am thinking of using one on the right as a mouse replacement for basic cursor movement, the other on the left for "manipulation" (in apps, for rotating graphics, zooming, et cetera).

I haven't tried that. I have two trackpads and pair them with multiple computers, but I only use one at time with any one computer. For graphical manipulation, a tablet would probably be a better choice.

Okay. I had a suspicion when I posted that what I'm looking to do probably isn't doable. And while you are probably correct about the tablet solution, the magic trackpad would be a much less expensive solution. Not to mention taking up much less room on a small desktop.
