Ipod Mini on Mac OS 9.2 ???

Hey Guys

My friend is using a Claimshell Mac laptop with OS 9.2 on it , and she installed the Itunes 2.04 for it .. however , her mac won't reconize the ipod mini ?

Any suggestions ?

Mac Mini 1.25, Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Mac OS 9 will not recognize an iPod mini in either the Finder or iTunes, but you may be able to charge its battery by connecting it to a Mac OS 9 system. The first and second generation iPods can be used with Mac OS 9's iTunes, as can third generation iPods which are running version 2.0x of the firmware. Third generation iPods running newer firmware versions and iPod shuffles can be used in the Finder under Mac OS 9.
