is there anyway of getting wimax on an ipod touch in america?

is there anyway to get wimax to work on an ipod touch in america? i know that people can connect to wimax in other countries and stuff but over here it doesn't work and the wifi here doesn't work either. is there anyway to get the wimax to work and if not how can i get the wifi to work?
