How to disable autocorrect bar in Chinese (pinyin)?

I've got a Chinese bought iPhone 4 which is running the latest iOS 5.0.1.

Though I'm from Canada, I regularly use both English and Chinese - and so have a Chinese pinyin keyboard setup.

Recently, after I upgraded to 5.0 or 5.0.1 (not 100% sure which) the Chinese pinyin keyboard started suddenly using the "hidden" Android style auto-correct bar for the Chinese keyboard only - not for the English keyboard.

NOTE - i know about and did NOT do any of the iBackupBot plist changes talked about in 5.0.1 to enable this for the English keyboard. It just started popping up the autocorrect bar itself.

The problem is it ***** basically, and I want to go back to the previous way suggestions were shown "in-line" in the text window (it uses too much space, hides the input bar, is too slow and is just basically unusable).

I've looked through all the iphone keyboard config settings and can't see how to revert or disable this. I've also tried using iBackupBot to explicitly turn it off (the reverse of the "turn it on" changes to enable it), all without any luck.

Does anyone know how to disable and revert the autocorrect/character select bar for the Chinese pinyin keyboard?

Apple, if you do actually read these posts, please take note. China is your hottest market right now (I live here, I know), but right now the Chinese Hanzi input method with this bar is UNUSABLE and will seriously **** people off who buy iPhones. You MUST get this fixed ASAP if you want to keep being so popular in China.
