Network file share shortcuts

When using network file shares, my users have to go to Finder/Go/Connect to Server and choose the one they want to connect to under "Favorite Servers". I would like make it more simple to access the network file shares by putting shortcuts on their desktops for each share. Can someone let me know how to do that or offer other suggestions on making accessing file shares less cumbersome?
