I recently (3 days ago) bought a brand new apple keyboard. i plugged into my Mac OS X desktop and all the keys work except the keys on the top row (F1 - F12. AKA The brightness, rewind, play/pause, forward, and the volume keys) aren't working.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Did you install the Keyboard update for it?
I think Spark cured this for another person and the same problem...
The kbd could be defective.
Something to try. In the System Preferences window, select Keyboard & Mouse. In the Keyboard window, click on Change Keyboard Type. Then go through the setup again as if the keyboard is being used for the first time.
