iOS does not provide a method to password protect individual apps.

Developers have the option while coding their app to include such protection.

Check the AppStore for an app that offers what you want.

I think its absolutely pitifull that the iphone 4S "messages" app has no security mechanism, either 3rd party or built in. Each individual contact should technically be able to be secured if required, but minimally access to the app should be able to be secured seperately from the entire phone. ( every app should have the option )

There are privacy setting for social networking apps, yet we have no options for our phone when they are often used in a social situations, children using to play games, sharing videos, pics etc.

For me personally im tired of my kids playing with my phone and DELETING my F'n texts! and apps! without some sort of security. What am I supposed to buy a seperate device for them to use? I guess thats why apple has never addressed this complaint from hundreds of users, THEY WANT YOU TO BUY MORE!! just more GREED!!!

I think it's absolutely pitiful that you can't figure out it does have a security mechanism. It's called a passcode on the phone. If you don't like it, go buy something else. Or maybe don't let your kids play with ayour $500+ phone.

Your argument is ridiculous on its face. Since Apple doesn't SELL anything that would "address this complaint", how could not addressing it indicate that they are greedy and want you to buy more?

Don't drink before you post next time.
