Does verizon e-mail work with iCloud? If yes, how do you set it up?

No. iCloud is only for MobileMe and iCloud accounts. If you are wanting to get your Verizon email through your iCloud account, you can go to the Verizon email site and setup to have it forward to your iCloud account.
