Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup folder.

This meesage during Time Machine backup: "Time Machine could not complete backup. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup folder." What do I do?

FYI...After the reset I neglected to go back and repair the disk, and after a few good backups I got the same problem back. So...this time I repaired the disk and all seems OK now after two good backups.


Your thoughts re cloning make some sense and I may use that approach after this external drive dies, which it could be doing. I've cloned the iMac on a separate drive using CCClone.


How often do do you run your clones?
