Is this part of the update or I have some kind of problem. I'm tuning my library art to display correctly in my car audio, and I need to drag the old cover to the desktop in order to check the size and weight. I could do that in 10.5.0 and I can restore it from my TM backup but I want to be sure first...

I'm having the same issue; I used to drag artwork all the time to make sure all the art for one album is uniform in size, color, etc. and other such neurotic necessities. I'm irritated that now when I try to drag it opens the fullsize in iTunes when I release the mouse button; makes cleaning them up a bit more tedious.
I hope it isn't 'part' of the update and just an unintented consequence.

Restore the iTunes application version 10.5, the file iTunes Library.itl of the iTunes Music folder and uncheck Look for updates in the Software Update Preferences. Everything returns to normality.
I would like to return to iTunes 5.0 on all my Macs. I have a Time Machine back up for all of them. Please tell me how to use Time Machine to return. Do I have to open Applications first and go to Time Machine and restore it and then go to my Music Library and then again open Time Machine and find the file iTunes Library.itl and restore it and then will I be Ok?
correct, you can browse Time Machine content in a finder window, and check in preview if the version of iTunes is the 10.5. Then when the application is highlighted just click restore, it will ask you for administrator password. Same with the library file, restore the same day an hour.
Thank You Trinity! It worked on 3 of my Macs and I did have to add files from the music folder that were not in iTunes on the date I chose from Time Machine but everything worked out great!
The reason I switched to 5.0 was because 5.1 does not display multiple copies of artwork. The arrow in the artwork box is no longer displayed even though you have multiple versions of artwork (front and back cover) I wonder why they did this. I wish they didn't. If you get info on a track where you have multiple pieces of artwork you can move them around and even delete some of them but you can't display them with the artwork box. I sent feedback to iTunes but I probably won't hear from them.

I tried to install 5.0 using your method by using the Time Machine backup on my external Hard Drive for my MacbookPro with the exact same volume as my MacbookPro except it has iTunes 5.1 which I would like to be 5.0. It wouldn't allow me as it says Time Machine is not configured. Is there any solution you can offer so that I can use the back up to get 5.0?
you can copy both directly from another of your Macs, but I'm not sure the library will work

I can restore the iTunes Application from the Applications folder (look for version 10.5) and also restore the iTunes Library (Library.itl) from the iTunes Music folder?

Thank You Trinity again!!!! I used a flash drive to transfer. I could have just copied from one drive to the other. However,the file when transferred (the iti file) looked different than a normal file it looked like a unix file. However,it worked and I now have 5.0 on my Macs.
OK, I've found the App and the Library files and hav restored them both to my Desktop.
Trouble is, I "can't delete or modify iTunes because it's needed by OS X"
I have AppCleaner, which would do it intheory, but there are so many files it all look too daunting.
Maybe I'll wait until the bug is fixed?
No,Don't delete anything,just move the itunes file into your applications folder and do the same with the iti file in your itunes music folder. You will probably have to put your administrator password in when you put the iTunes file in your applications folder. Believe me all will be OK!
