iOS 5 maps, Apple why did you ruin it?

I used to never have to touch my phone when it would display directions to my destination, I would just watch my blue dot travel along the long blue line, now it only highlights the current step of the directions in blue and the rest of the directions are very faded, so now I have to keep hitting Next, Next, Next etc to select the next step in order for it to highlight that portion of the directions. I Hate this and I'm sure everybody who uses their iphone's MAPS for navigation will agree.

I don't understand what possible reason apple could have had to make users suddenly have to Keep Interacting with the phone to follow directions, I don't need my hands on the anything but the wheel while I'm driving!!

I suggest TomTom. It costs a repectable amount and provides value. I have maps built-in (no data connection of any sort required) for very lane in western Europe, for which I paid something in the region of £50.

Just seach the appstore for "satnav" or similar. There are freebies available, but beware apps which require a data connection to download the maps. You don't want to be lost just because you're out of range of a cell tower.

People, People, i'm not saying the dot doesn't move, It moves, but the old version would have a solid blue line for the entire length of the trip, now it's only solid for the current step of the directions, so you have to keep hitting Next to go the next step and then it highlights JUST THAT part of the directions, otherwise the blue is very faint and you can barely see it.

I'm not expecting users to do anything, but I've been told time and time again that APPLE monitors these forums,

so where the F is APPLE?

I don't even know why I care anymore, I've already downloaded a 3rd party app which is better, but Jesus Christ, what does Apple do when somebody points out a problem with an app that's BUILT INTO THE PHONE.

Apple does not respond to posts made in these forums. These are user-to-user forums only; the Communities Hosts attempt to keep any eye out for comments, but with thousands of posts to have to scan through, posting here is not a reliable way to submit suggestions and comments. If you want to comment to Apple, use the Feedback pages, as you were told back in November, in the very first reply to your original post.
