iOS 5 maps, Apple why did you ruin it?

If you are using the standard Maps application to navigate whilst driving, you're going to kill somebody. Get yourself one of the many speaking satnav apps designed to be used in-car.

I personally use MotionX GPS Drive and am very happy with it.

I suggest TomTom. It costs a repectable amount and provides value. I have maps built-in (no data connection of any sort required) for very lane in western Europe, for which I paid something in the region of £50.

Just seach the appstore for "satnav" or similar. There are freebies available, but beware apps which require a data connection to download the maps. You don't want to be lost just because you're out of range of a cell tower.

Copilot USA, cost me about $6.

Also, google provides the maps and their features-not Apple.

The strange thing is that my phone with iOS 5.0.1 still shows the moving dot. So there's something wrong with YOUR phone, not with the version.

What else do you expect? No one here can change things, you've been given the way to provide feedback to Apple and alternate suggestions. What more are you looking for from your fellow users?
