Can access server on LAN via IP but not servername.local

I've recently installed OS X Lion Server. Both the server and the client machines are on the same LAN.

On the server itself I am able to access profile manager via Safri as I would expect.

However, on other machines on the LAN I can not access profile manager. I can access the server itself using it's IP address. I can see the wiki page when that is enabled on the server (using the IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/wiki).

When I click on the "Profile Manager" link at the bottom of that page the browswer momentarily forwards to:

XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/profilemanager

Which then forwards to:

https://servername.local/auth?redirect=https://servername.local/devicemanagement /api/authentication/callback

And at that point nothing happens... Safari can't connect (presumibly since it's unable to resolve the servername.local address.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
