My volume is greyed out and now I can't control my laptops volume.

Check your sound system preferences output device.

Try smc and pram reset.

If you boot in safe mode does the problem still occur?

If you boot into another account does the problem still occur?

Hi,

I have the same problem and have tried both options which work until next reset.

Sound still works in VLC and Premiere Pro but is not adjustable and will not play in anything else including Safari and iTunes.
