Trying to use @aol.com email with iCloud

I was able to set up every single other sync with iCloud (iCal, iTunes, etc) but I've tried everything and can't get Mail to sync up through iCloud. Is this even possible(having iCloud only able to sync @me.com emails doesn't make much sense to me....) I'm pretty good with computers, and this has been unbelievably irritating. If anyone has any advice, that would be great.
