pioneer VSX-53 airplay out of sync with airport express
Is anyone successfully using a pioneer receiver with other airplay devices? Mine is out of sync with the rest of the house. What can I do to fix this?

My VSX-1021 has the same problem. It is very annoying. I've had a support request with Pioneer ongoing quite some time now, but i get little feedback. Only that the request was forwarded from Sweden to Belgium and then to Japan.

I have the same problem and have had to relocate the receiver in a room where it doesn't mix with other music feeds. Pain in the but. I will say that the amp keeps in sync when I used atv2 for the audio feed but that's kind of beside the point of having AirTunes integrated. Major prob w this reciever.
Still no reply from Pioneer. Lame. However, the friends at Rogueamoeba have provided me with a workaround that works with Airfoil. Airfoil can set individual delays on all Airplay receivers in debug mode, so I just shortened the delay for the Pio a tad:
We do offer a manual sync adjustment, as a debugging tool, in Airfoil. Please note that this is not supported for everyday use - on a network which is functioning properly, it shouldn't be needed at all. That said, you can try it if you like.
To enable the sync adjustment, follow these steps:
1) Quit and re-launch Airfoil while holding down the option key. This will bring up the debugging window.
2) Turn the Sync Adjustment debugger to On, and click Done.
Now each remote speaker will have an additional slider below the volume slider - that's the sync adjustment. The center is 0 offset, and the ends are +/-1 second. Adjustments only take effect when connecting, so if you're experimenting with it, you'll need to disconnect, adjust, and then reconnect to see how well it worked.
Airfoil will remember your adjustments after you quit, even if you turn Sync Adjustment off. (All that does is enable/disable the GUI, not the adjustment settings.)
That is cool and good on rogue... But I need to have it running through the remote app via iTunes for the whole thing to work right. Can u do that still if the calibration is via airfoil (which I have and like).
Have you heard anything back from Pioneer on this issue? I have a VSX-51 and am experiencing the same problem. The support tech was less than helpful and basically told me there is no solution and there won't be - so deal.
