Hello,

I am using Logic to create big band jazz arrangements. Just wondering if anyone knows whether there is an equivalent of the "explode" function in Finale, in Logic.

That is, if you are using a trumpet track for example, to compose 4 parts in one track. Then, using a keystroke it can put each of the notes in the chord on a corresponding track for trumpet 2, 3 and 4. Thereby eliminating the task of playing in, or input of the next 3 parts

Finale does this and wondering in Logic has this similar function

Thank you

Hi

In the Score Editor, the View:Explode Polyphony function will display individual parts on separate staffs, provided you have correctly set up a Polyphonic Staff Style using MIDI Channel splits. The Functions:Note Events:Voices to Channels may help here.

To completely separate these parts to separate regions and tracks in the Arrange, use the Arrange:MIDI:Separate Events by Event Channel.
