All of my videos and music have disappeared from my iPad

when I turned on my iPad2 this morning, all of my uploaded music and videos were gone. I've searched my iPad but there is no record of any of these items.

If the content is in your iTunes library on your computer - you can sync with iTunes to transfer the content back to the iPad.

  1. Connect the iPad to your computer
  2. Launch iTunes
  3. Select your device from the left side under devices
  4. Click on the Movies Tab in iTunes
  5. Click on the Sync Movies heading
  6. Click on all of the movies that you want to sync
  7. Click on Sync - or Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Do the same thing in all of the tabs in iTunes - music, photos, whatever content that you want to transfer.

You can download music again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID and iTunes account that you used to buy the music. You can download in iTunes on the iPad - tap on the Purchased Tab and all of your purchased music will appear in the next window. You can download again in iTunes on your computer and then sync again as well.

Download Past Purchases.

I have no idea why movies disappear like this, but obviously other users have seen the same issue. Have you tried the search trick. Not that searching is a trick, but getting the movies to show up again is sort of a trick.

Go to your first home screen and swipe to the right to get to Spotlight Search. Type in the name of the movie. Tap on the movie - if it appears in the search. It should start to play. Let it play for a minute or two and then hit the done button. Go back to the Videos App and see if the movies are showing.

Another "trick" that sometimes works is to download a podcast - a free one of course, - start to play that, - hit done - and then see if the movies appears in the Videos App.

I don't know if this will work for you, or why it does work to begin with, but I have seen it work for others.
