Error Code-1603 & Error Code 1722- Anyone aware of how to fix this?

Hey Guys:

A little help need I am trying to install iTunes and have been having serious issues thus far.

I have installed the iTunes and then THe Quicktime portion fails so then I go and get the standalone of Quicktime then I get these 2 errors: Error Code-1603 Fatal Error During Installation & Error Code 1722.PLUS something that refers to the Windows installer version not being correct or something along those lines.

Any ideas?

hiya!

1700-range errors can indicate a problem with your underlying Windows Installer set-up. so let's take that message seriously, and first let's make sure that you've got the latest version of Windows Installer on your PC:

Windows Installer 3.1 v2 (3.1.4000.2435) is available

does the install go through properly if you've got the latest version of Windows Installer on your PC?

keep us posted. (even if no joy with this suggestion, there's a few things to try after this.)

I downloaded Windows Installer and here is what I get:

Error 1722-There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support center or package vendor.

okay, let's try the standalone QT install again, this time taking a few additional precautions.

download and save the standalone QT 7.0.4 installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install. (that last step is crucial. antivirus/antispyware interference is another reported cause of the 1700-range errors.)
