Can't import photos from my iPhone to iPhoto.

Usually once I connected my iPhone, iPhoto is automatically opened and all the pictures can be imported. However, now the pictures won't show in iPhoto anymore. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I read in one of the threads, it suggested to go to iTunes, on Preferences tab go to Device, uncheck automatic sync when iPhone is connected.

Quit iTunes. Launch iPhoto again and you could import your pictures.

I tried and it works. However, I have to do that everytime I connected my iPhone... 😠

I am using iPhoto'11 and iPhone 3GS with OS5.... I think the proble is with the OS5... It *****... Hopefully future updates will resolve this...

With support from Apple I solved the problem of not being able to transfer photos from iphone to Mac computer. First I synced the phone with computer, then I emailed myself the photos from the iphone that I wanted to keep. Then using iTunes I "restored" the iphone as a new phone and then synced it on iTunes to get all the files back. Decided not to restore with "backup" because that might have been part of the problem. Works fine now

Same problem. Updated iphone software on 4s to the iOS 5.1 version today. Now when I connect my iphone to my Macbook (Mac OS X 10.6.8) iphoto no longer opens automatically. When I do open iphoto, it doesn't recognise the photo's I originally took on my iphone. Hence I cannot import photo's from iphone to iphoto (unless I do it via email). How do I rectify? Do I need to upgrade to Lion OS?

Same problem here: upgraded from 4.3.x to iOS 5.1 (iPhone 3GS), now I can't import photos taken on iPhone. Neither with iPhoto nor with Lightroom - they both do see the connected iPhone tough. However they both claim that there are 0 photos found.

That's on OS X 10.6.8, iPhoto '11 (latest v 9.2.3), iTunes 10 (10.6.1) - or in other words: all updates installed. However I remember a quick test with the iPhone 4 from my girlfriend also found no photos on her device (also iOS 5.1) (so it can't be a 3GS issue only).

I do have "sync over WiFi" enabled, but all iCloud services are turned OFF.

I am pretty sure it must be the fault of iOS 5.1. Off course the phones were unlocked at the time of import. Also re-connecting the USB cable did not show any success. Also made sure that no sync was going on during the photo import attempt.

Same issue as others.

3GS, iOS 5.1, iPhoto 8.1.2 (iPhoto '09) I have it unchecked so it doens't open iPhoto everytime I have my iPhone plugged in. It shows up under Devices in iPhoto but it says no items even though I have 2,000+ on my camera roll.

I want to it my photos off my iPhone but as long as my Camera Roll is backed up to iCloud I should be fine if I restore my iPhone? Asking because I want to do the official lock through AT&T and don't want to look photo's in my Camera Roll.

I always used to import my photos with Picasa and sometimes I would use windows explorer which i didn't really like because the order of the photos doesn't make any sense and the pictures are in random folders. So I liked using picasa because I could import all my photos and skip previously imported pictures and it would organize the pictures by the order they were taken. But last year sometime or maybe early tihs year using Picasa to import photos stopped working. I was using a 4s. Now I have a 5s and I was trying to import photos and I couldn't even get the photos out using windows explorer, and the when I tried to use Picasa to import pictures the device would show up but there wouldn't be any pictures or sometimes the iphone wouldn't even be recognized at all.

SOLUTION

This is the solution i found. If you connect your iphone 5s to the computer with the usb it will automatically connect with itunes. Then if you try to copy files off the phone with Picasa or Windows explorer it won't work because it'll give you some error like device is busy or unable to connect to device. So you have to go to itunes and in the upper right hand corner of itunes there is a button that shows iPhone and the eject button. Click on the eject iphone button and then Picasa and windows explorer will allow you to import your photos.

short solution:

EJECT IPHONE FROM ITUNES

then picasa and windows explorer will let you import photos.

Can't import photos from my iPhone to iPhoto.
