How to reboot iphone 3gs without lock button with white screen of death?

My iphone 3gs randomly went into what they call the white screen of death.

the lock button is broken - so hard reset is unavailable.

i've tried plugging it in to the computer but won't be recognized , the computer shows no connection to the device.

how do i get rid of the white screen? is there another way to reset the device?

You have a true WSOD. If iTunes does not recognize this turned ON iPhone, then very serious hardware issues beyond a screen problem are occuring.

An iPhone will turn OFF when the battery finally drains.

Sometimes a broken Power button can be revived a few times by squeezing (pinching) that corner front glass to the back case while pressing the Power button.
