USB printer stops working after one print job

I have an airport express device with a samsung scx-4623 series printer/fax connected to its usb port.

The printer was recognized on the network with Bonjoir and the printer driver installed correctly.

If I send a print job to the printer, the job is printed as expected. However if a second print job is sent to the printer the print queue reports that it has sent 22% (or similar) and then after a few seconds reports that the printer is paused. Nothing gets printed. If I then restart the airport express, I can then resume the printer and the print job and I get my printouts.

Not sure why I have to restart the airport express each time before sending a print job.
