Is there any way to emulate a middle mouse click on a MacBook Pro?

I have tried 3rd party apps but haven't had any success in my target (3d) application.

This is a very common input method and I can't believe that a "Pro" laptop by Apple is unable to deliver this functionality.

Say it aint so.

The most good for whom?

Apple state clearly on their feedback form that answers will not be forthcoming.

I posted here looking for an answer.

If you don't have an answer to my question then why are your bothering?

Please quit wasting my time.

Thank you, but I want to get middle mouse input on the macbookPro's trackpad.

I have a mouse with three buttons (mighty mouse by Apple no less) but don't want to compromise my mobile computing experience by having to use it.

My target app isn't for browsing (i.e., using Firefox's MMB features), so my specific need is to MMB click-drag.

I recently received this response from Apple:

"The application would need to allow remapping of a gesture or key command to the middle mouse button. If the application does not support this then you would need to connect a mouse with a middle button.

For additional support for the MacBook Pro, OS X and key commands, we ask that you please contact AppleCare via the web, telephone or use the Express Lane link to begin an online support session."

Therefore, this functionality is dependant on third party applications ability to allow users to emulate a middle mouse button using keyboard comands (as Blender does). I am pretty surprised that there is no native (mouseless) MMB input options for MBP.
