very odd disk problem

Yes, I get the disk too slow message BUT, this only happens when my band is recording together (just 1 mic for listening purposes).
What the !#@%! is it?
This is really an annoyance.
If I record alone with LE, it seems to react fine.
Do anybody have an answer for this??!!!
I can't buy a new hard drive at this moment and I know many people are using LE fine on Minis.
