does anybody know whether the ipod nano has to work to be eligiable for the recall?

Hey same issue here. I called the support number today, and they said that they had unexpectedly run out of the return boxes, but that they ordered more and would be sending them this week.


Not to bum everyone out further, but... Gizmodo reported on the 19th that Apple is replacing the recalled Nanos with the exact refurbished model, not the updated touch as previously reported. Boo. Guess it's still a new, shiny Nano that won't burn-up, right?

Same here. I signed up for the replacement on November 13 and received an email the next day stating, "Within two business days, you should receive a package at this address."


They ran out of boxes... really??? Good grief, it isn't as if they don't know how many of these were sold. 😉


If it's a refurbished Nano like reported, I can't say I'm all that anxious to get it. I already bought a new 6th gen about a month before they emailed me about the recall. Oh well.
