anyone got arabic subtitles to work on apple tv2?

Hi.

i've used handbrake to copy a dvd into Itunes and encode into the movie arabic subtitles. when i play the movie in itunes or ipad 2 and enable the arabic subtitles i see them working fine.

however when i use the ipad 2 to airplay to my appletv2 and then enable the arabic subtitiles , the subtitles don't show up on the tv.

i've tried french subtitles for testing, and that one works with appletv2.

so the question is, does appletv2 support arabic subtitling or text? maybe it doesn't have arabic fonts? shouldn't airplay mirroring mean display whatever is displayed on the ipad?

appletv2 is running 4.4.3

ipad 2 running latest 5.0.1

any help appreciated.

Fadi.

i found a workaround. i was thinking since french works, what if i insert the arabic subtitle srt file using handbrake but define it in handbrake as french subtitle.

i tried it and it works!. now my applet tv shows arabic subtitles when i actually chose french subtitles!.

not tidy, but works.

btw i found in the apple tv 4.3.3 general->audio/video settings->subtitles list, and arabic is not there.

i hope this helps someone else.
