If three different iPhones (your old, your new, your wife's) don't work with this car charger, certainly you can't blame that on the phone. You probably bought a crappy brand of car charger, as I have one too with no problems. What kind of "wacky" behavior is the phone doing?

Using 2 different iPhone Chargers that came with our phones, 2 different cars, AC Converter in one car, USB & AC pluc in the other .. not using Car Chargers.
I take it due to your response, you're not having any problems while charging your iPhone 4s in your car?? Also, just found other threads of people having the same issue i am with their 4s, so i guess i can blame the iphone 4s.

You must be mistaken, as iPhones do not come with car chargers. Now you're just giving conflicting information, as the title of your question says you are using a car charger and then you say you are not and that you are using chargers that came with the phone.

my friend, im not talking about car chargers.. our cars have AC outlets(just like your house) i can plug in a coffee maker in my car if i want so we use the chargers that came with our phones.. No mistake here... you're just not reading our response to your 1st reply.

OK, well what is it that you want me to read? Your original post or your first reply? Because one says car charger and the other one does not. And you still have yet to explain the "wacky behavior" that is happening to the phone.

Have you or anyone found a solution to the iphone 4S repeated burn out of car chargers? I have Audi A6 2010, with three outlets. Also have 3 different iphone approved chargers (Belkin, Griffin and Amazon) that all will not work (light doesn't go on to show there is a connection) and my iphones show no charge. At the beginning iphone said it did not support this charger, but after adjusting the tightness of the connection, it started charging. However, short term only, now doesn't work All chargers have burned out. Is there a specific brand for iPhone 4S that will not burnout and continue to work?

I've never heard of alternating current outlets in automobiles. What kind of a car do you have?
