Why won't my charger work?

Why won't my charger work. I've only had the Mac for about 4 months and the charger light won't come on the cord nor does it show charging on the screen.

MacBook Pro, iOS 5

Unplug the charger from its wall outlet for a minute, then plug it back in and test again. Any difference?

It's been unplugged all day. I have tried other outlets as well.
